AIDS Day to be marked statewide

To commemorate World Aids Day, Friday, December 1, Jalisco’s Department of Health (SSJ) is offering activities centered around prevention of the disease which has claimed millions of lives worldwide.

Shouldering the majority of the program load is the state’s Aids Prevention Council (COESIDA).  One of their principal strategies is known as 90-90-90, consisting in diagnosing 90 percent of those afflicted by Aids, give antiviral treatment to 90 of those diagnosed, with the goal of having 90 percent of virus-carriers be in control of their affliction.
