State pledges to improve assistance to female victims of violence

Branches of the state government, including the office of the Attorney General and the Jalisco Women’s Institute, have signed a pledge of collaboration which has at its core sensitivity training for those public employees who frequently deal with female victims of violence.

The aim of the accord is to improve inter-departmental cooperation with regards to violence against women, thus improving, theoretically, how reports of violence are processed and followed up on, as well as treatment of the victims themselves.

Aside from violence against women, the accord intends to address other issues which women have a stake in, including equal opportunity and discrimination.
