Last weekend, the city’s most fervently devoted Catholics continued their campaign against “Sincretismo,” a sculpture on the center divider of Federalismo (within sight of the Templo de Nuestra Señora del Refugio)
whose mix of pre-Colombian imagery with that of the Virgen de Guadalupe protestors deem blasphemous and disrespectful towards the revered religious figure.
This weekend’s demonstration took the form of a caravan of cars cruising slowly along Federalismo sporting banners, handheld signs and images of the Virgen herself.
