Governor signs deal with Airbnb

The government of Jalisco has signed an agreement with hospitality company Airbnb pledging mutual cooperation, for the benefit of both parties.

Representatives of the company said that the agreement will result in the ability to enjoy parts of Jalisco which have little to no tourism infrastructure.  They also reported that, last year, approximately 294,300 travelers were welcomed by roughly 6,300 property owners letting space via the online platform.  Governor Aristoteles Sandoval signed the agreement at the San Francisco headquarters of Airbnb during this week’s visit to Sillicon Valley (see story page 9).
