Tonala kite festival Saturday

Dozens of colorful kites will flutter over Tonala’s Cerro de la Reina hill, Saturday, April 7, in the third edition of the Festival de Papalote. 

The event is organized by the Defendemos el Cerro de la Reina collective, a group dedicated to preserving the identity of Tonala, one of Mexico’s most traditional craft centers.

The Cerro de la Reina is a small hill astride the Guadalajara suburb offering a great view of the metropolitan area and beyond. It is considered a sacred and mystical spot and commands a special place in the hearts of locals.The action starts at 4 p.m. Free.
