Missing US retiree found safe & sound

Bill Wolff, a U.S. resident of Jocotepec who disappeared Wednesday, April 4, has been returned safe and sound to his lakeside domicile.

pg10Wolff, 79, was discovered parked in his Mercedes Benz by a Ciudad Guzman police officer on the Guadalajara-Colima highway at 1 a.m. on Friday, April 6.

Disorientated and confused, Wolff was brought to the federal police station in Ciudad Guzman, where he was given food and water while attempts were made to contact his friends and family.

Contact was finally made – thanks, in part, to missing-person notices posted on the Guadalajara Reporter website and social media – at 10 a.m. the same morning.  Two hours later, Wolff’s wife and two friends, along with federal police, arrived at the Ciudad Guzman station to take charge.  The much-congratulated officer who found Wolff, Sub Inspector Juan Francisco Villaruel Ayala, accompanied the happily reunited group back to Jocotepec.
