Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), the frontrunner in Mexico’s 2018 presidential race, is scheduled to make a campaign stop in Jocotepec on Saturday, May 19.
His itinerary calls for a rally at the town’s waterfront Malecón, 3:30 p.m.
López Obrador will be accompanied by Julia Valencia and Gerardo Degollado, Morena candidates running for mayor in Jocotepec and Chapala, along with Francisco Diaz and Luis Fernando Pérez Rivera who seek election to represent District 17 in the state and federal legislatures respectively.
The politicians are expected to address water issues relevant to lakeshore constituents.
AMLO’s one-day visit to Jalisco will start with an appearance in Ciudad Guzman at noon and close in Tlajomulco de Zuñiga, 6 p.m.
