‘Lime’ scooters appear in Puerto Vallarta

Tourists in Puerto Vallarta and Bahia de Banderas won’t encounter any shortage of public transportation now that electronic “Lime” scooters are available for rent.

The devices were first introduced in Mexico City in October and are now popping up in major tourist destinations along the Pacific coast.

It costs 20 pesos to unlock the scooters, plus three pesos per minute of use. For the next six months, residents and visitors can use up to four free trips lasting ten minutes with the promo code “LorneVallarta.”

The “Lime” company is funded by a Silicon Valley firm called Andreessen Horowitz based out of San Francisco, California. Since the company began in 2017, they have launched more 100 scooter projects throughout the United States and Europe. By the end of the year, they plans to launch new projects in 50 new international locations.
