Sebastián Ofner of Austria, ranked 147th in the world, won the second edition of the Puerto Vallara Tennis Open, defeating Australia’s John-Patrick Smith (ranked 198) in the final.
The pairing of John–Patrick Smith and Matt Reid (Australia) won the doubles event. The ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) Challenger event took place from April 29 to May 5, with prize money totaling $US135,000. Champion Ofner took home $US18,000 and some well-earned world ranking points.
Organizers noted that both finals were played to sell-out crowds.
