Critics tear into ‘unready’ health-care program

Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro has accused the federal government of implementing its new “health-care-for-all” program too hastily, and without defining exactly how it will operate in practice.

His chief complaint is how the new system will attend to patients with serious conditions that require specialist treatment or complicated surgery, referred to in Mexico as alta especialidad.
