Testing in Jalisco ramps up

In an effort to efficiently combat the spread of Covid-19 infection in Jalisco, the state’s Department of Health recently partnered with the University of Guadalajara (UDG) to launch the Radar Jalisco system aimed at increasing prompt detection of persons infected with the disease and achieving a more accurate count of active cases.

pg1bThe bull-by-the-horns approach was designed to increase the number of Covid-19 tests being performed to 500 per day by opening more permanent testing facilities and utilizing  all around the state mobile laboratories equipped for travel.

Testing employs the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method of tracing the RNA of the SARS-CoV-2 virus to catch signs of infection in its earliest stages, even before symptoms appear.
