Dengue numbers down, SSJ reports

The Jalisco Health Department (SSJ) has reported 2,905 confirmed cases of dengue fever since the start of 2020, a 42.4-percent decrease compared with the same period of 2019, when 5,047 cases were registered.

Cases of the more severe, often fatal, dengue hemorrhagic fever have dropped by 72.9 percent, the SSJ says.

Since January, SSJ crews have spread out across the state to carry out dengue control measures that include the identification of dengue-bearing mosquito breeding grounds, indoor and outdoor spraying, house-to-house inspections, talks and training.
