Jalisco & British Council team up for cultural rethink

In a virtual ceremony this week, Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro Ramírez and representatives of the British Council Mexico unveiled a new partnership program that has the aim of generating policy for the post Covid-19 cultural sector in the state.

According to the British Council, “Innovation for Culture” is “a community-led participatory methodology” motivated by the Jalisco government’s desire to “achieve the development of better cultural policy tailored around the sector’s needs.”

A Jalisco government press release said the process will be managed by the British Council and facilitated by experts from the United Kingdom in collaboration with Mexican agencies and specialists, and will culminate in June 2021 with an open and downloadable report.
