According to the State Institute of Statistical and Geographical Information (IIEG), the number of foreigners visiting Jalisco by air declined by 48.7 percent in 2020. The total of 1.35 million was the lowest for eight years.
In 2019, Jalisco’s airports welcomed 2.64 million people from other countries.
Visitor levels fell dramatically in the first four months of 2020, but started to pick up as of May, IIEG revealed.
At the national level, 7.94 million foreign visitors arrived by air, of which Jalisco accounted for 17.07 percent.
