The latest statistic regarding impunity for crimes in Jalisco is nothing to write home about, but at least it’s a downward trend.
The percentage of crimes that went unpunished in Jalisco dropped from 96.2 percent in 2019 to 94.6 in 2020, according to Mexico Evalúa. The data agency also revealed that 22 million people in Mexico were the victim of some kind of crime in 2020, a figure representing 28 percent of all households.
