As Jalisco introduces measures for patrons of bars and large-scale events to show proof of Covid vaccination, Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro has warned about the consequences of forging such documents.
“Falsifying an official document is a crime,” he stressed this week.
According to the federal Penal Code, the sanction for such a crime ranges from four to eight years in prison, plus a hefty fine. If the crime is carried out by a public servant, the prison time can be increased to a maximum of 12 years.
Everyone who has been fully vaccinated in Mexico can download the official certificado de vacunación contra Covid-19 at cvcovid.salud.gob.mx, or via Whats App at 561-713-0557.
In the latter case, simply send the message “Hola,” and follow the subsequent instructions.
