Outrage at murder of innocent teen in Tlajomulco

A man and two women have been detained in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Eduardo Salomón Puertos, who was forcibly removed from his home in Tlajomulco on February 4 while caring for his younger siblings.

pg1dHis body was found two days later in an abandoned property in the municipality with a bullet wound to his body.

The murder provoked widespread indignation and condemnation, and several protests and vigils in memory of Eduardo were held this week.

Newly appointed State Prosecutor Luis Joaquín Méndez Ruiz confirmed this week that the abductors confused Eduardo with another person who lived in an adjacent  house.

Eduardo, known as “Lalo,” worked in a grocery store in the Haciendas de los Fresnos subdivision where he lived, and supported his parents by taking care of his younger siblings when they went to work.
