Although the dreaded coronavirus has yet to leave its mark on Jalisco, this state has the dubious honor of having registered more deaths from “regular” influenza this season than any other Mexican entity.

Cancer drug shortage
Reports of a shortage of cancer medicines for children at Guadalajara’s public Hospital Civil are gaining ground. The director of the Nariz Roja charity told reporters Thursday that the hospital has run out of stocks of eight important medicines required by children undergoing chemotherapy: Imatinib, Vincristina, Vinblastina, Ifosfamida, Dacarbacina, Daunorrubicina, Bleomicina and Amifostina. The charity has managed to obtain the medicines thanks to donations.
