Local girl Daniel Paola Souza thrilled the home crowd when she won a gold medal in the World Tae Kwon Do Championships being held this week in Guadalajara.

The public assembly called by Comité Ciudadano Ajijic Pueblo Mágico attracted a small but vocal audience of around 20 village residents who expressed concerns about living conditions in the town, deficient public services, and negative impacts that might arise from increased tourism and urban development.

The third Monday of November is set on Mexico’s holiday calendar as the official day off to commemorate the 1910 outbreak of the Mexican Revolution.
