Teatro Degollado transformed for intimate concerts

Is this the first time that the stage of the Degollado Theater has been transformed into “theater in the round”?

The new, free-of-charge Tuesday music/opera recitals have proved to be so popular that no longer will they take place in the theater’s below-ground Sala de Camara (chamber hall) but in the main auditorium itself, with intimate stage seating provided for early arrivals. In the Tuesday, July 16 recital (above), pianist Sergio Hernandez accompanies tenor Francisco Bedoy. The recitals start at 8 p.m.
