Art Festival
The American School Art Fest 2018, which takes place Saturday, December 8, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., will feature a performance by Circo Dragon, a well-known local circus arts group.
The show is scheduled 4 p.m. There is free entrance to the fair, at which 50 or more artists will display and sell their paintings, prints, ceramics and sculptures. Visitors can also purchase food, listen to music, join in children’s art workshops and check out displays of student art.

American Society
The American Society of Jalisco (Amsoc) holds its monthly board meeting on Tuesday, December 11, 10:30 a.m. All members are welcome to listen in on the decision-making process.
The English Book Club will discuss “Men Without Women” by Harumi Murakami at their next meeting on Thursday, December 13. Across seven tales, Murakami brings his powers of observation to bear on the lives of men who, in their own ways, find themselves alone. All are welcome.
A lunch follows Thursday, starting noon. On the menu is beef stew. There’s also a salad bar and chocolate pudding for dessert.

ConComics 2018
ConComics 2018, a lively local – but no less popular – version of the San Diego event that showcases comic books, anime, science fiction/fantasy, film, television, manga, related arts and more, takes place at Expo Guadalajara Saturday, December 8 and Sunday, December 9, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. As well as areas devoted to video gaming, visitors can expect to see many invited international artists and plenty of cosplay (fan costuming).
An important visitor to the show will be Neal Adams, the U.S. comic book and commercial artist known for helping create some of the definitive modern imagery of the DC Comics characters Batman and Green Arrow.
