Music, dance & comedy at ‘Cabaret Extravaganza’

Curtains rise at the Auditorio de la Ribera on an over-the-top cabaret show Wednesday and Thursday, November 20 and 21.

pg25aThis community-produced and -cast event features singing, dancing and comedy performed by some of the best local talents available, and promises to keep you smiling, toe tapping and maybe even singing along with your favorite tunes.

The ballet troupe from Pirouetteando – founded by Maestro Hector Hernandez – will showcase well-trained young dancers. Special performers include Patteye Simpson as Rosemary Clooney, Ricardo Gomez and Angela Ceja, The Fishnet Dancers, and The Fishnet Band led by Mike Fortier.

The choreography is by local dance instructors Val Jones, Alexis Hoff and Barbara Clippinger. The master of ceremonies is once again the funny John Ward. The cabaret is directed and produced by Kristine Moily.

Cabaret-style seating will be offered pre-show and during intermission, with entertainment by a special trio from Centro Regional de Estudios Musicales, courtesy of Maestro Emmanuel Medeles.

The bar opens 3 p.m. and the show starts 4 p.m. Advance tickets, 300 pesos, are available at Diane Pearl’s, Mia’s Boutique and the Auditorio. Unsold tickets will be available at the door.
