The lifeless body of a man was discovered on the central plaza of Chapala at around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27. He was stretched out on the stone border of a green area.
Red Cross paramedics sent to the scene pronounced him dead after checking for vital signs. There were no signs that the apparently homeless person had suffered any form of violence to cause his death.
The area was cordoned off after municipal police called officials from the Public Prosecutor’s Office to take charge of the situation. Personnel from the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences (IJCF) came later to pick up the corpse for transport to the morgue for autopsy.
