The acclaimed vocal ensemble Nova Lux will perform “Un Tapiz de Clásicos Corales” — a program of choral masterpieces from the Renaissance to the present — at Lakeside Little Theatre (LLT) on Friday, March 13, 4 p.m.
“This remarkable concert brings together masterpieces from the Madrigal, Renaissance, Early Baroque, Romantic and 20th-century periods,” said Gina Maziere, Co-Publicity Director for Las Voces del Lago, of which Nova Lux is an elite 16-member subset. “Each piece is a thread, and together they form a tapestry that honors centuries of choral tradition while celebrating its continued vitality. Through the artistry of Nova Lux, these timeless works are not museum pieces, but living expressions — voices from the past speaking vividly into the present.”
The program includes works by Antonio Scandello, William Byrd, Heinrich Schütz, Felix Mendelssohn and Morten Lauridsen, and will feature an early music recorder trio.

“Many of the singers in the group have performed in our musicals, so it seems like a perfect match,” said LLT President Collette Clavadetscher. “Las Voces has clearly established itself at Lakeside. Nova Lux is not to be missed!”
Ken Turner serves as Artistic Director, with Ismael Peña as Assistant Director and Robert Thieme as accompanist. Nova Lux, formed in September 2024, is an auditioned chamber ensemble of 12-20 singers selected from Las Voces del Lago, focusing on precision, expression, and vocal blend across an eclectic mix of chamber music, jazz and pop.
Nova Lux sang for the first time as part of Las Voces del Lago at the 2024 holiday concert. Las Voces del Lago presents two concerts per year, and Nova Lux is an integral part of these concerts.
Tickets for the March 13 performance at LLT cost 500 pesos and are available at lakesidelittletheatre.com.
