Bravo! Theatre
“Lettice and Lovage,” a comedic and satire by Peter Shaffer, continues at Bravo! Theatre through Sunday January 26. The play is centered around a flamboyant tour guide who loves to embellish the history behind an English country house and who butts heads with a fact-conscious official at the house.

Ajijic’s 11th annual Jewish Film Fest continues at Cinemagic in Plaza Bugambilias Sunday, January 26, 1:30 p.m. with a screening of “Tel-Aviv on Fire” (2018, Israel).
Salam, an inexperienced young Palestinian man, becomes a writer on a popular soap opera after a chance meeting with an Israeli soldier. His creative career is on the rise – until the soldier and the show’s financial backers disagree about how the show should end, and Salam is caught in the middle.
Talent show

An art auction to benefit March’s 7th annual Sangre Viva cultural festival will be held Friday, January 31, at the La Cochera Cultural, Javier Mina 49, Ajijic.

Studio Art Walk
The Rondalla de Chapala brings its smooth voices and romantic, melodic guitars to the Auditorio de la Ribera Friday, February 14, 6 p.m. for its 7th Para Los Enamorados (For Those in Love) Valentine’s Day concert. The Rondalla Feminil de Chapala will also make an appearance. Tickets for this usually sold-out concert, 180 pesos, are available at 333-106-7164.
The 9th annual Ajijic Society of the Arts Studio Art Walk will be held Saturday and Sunday, February 22 to 23, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local artists and craftspeople will display their most recent work at more than 30 locations throughout Lakeside. Some locations will include the work of several artists. Your admission “ticket” to enter the venues is actually booklet containing maps to each location. It also has a directory with a photo of a work by each of the participating artists and their contact information.

Earthquake emergency practice
Heeding a warning call broadcast by Civil Protection personnel, approximately 200 people vacated the premises of Chapala City Hall at 11 a.m., Monday, January 20 as part of the earthquake emergency reaction practice carried out simultaneously across the nation. Government employees, surprised taxpayers and other visitors were directed to the median strip, known as the Plazoleta de Hermandad, across the street in an orderly evacuation completed in just over three minutes.
