Auditions for Lakeside Little Theatre’s “The Madres,” by Stephanie Alison Walker, are held Thursday and Friday, September 2 and 3.

One Argentinian home is touched by the brutality of the regime in the late 1970s. This play is powerful, heartbreaking and tragically real. “The Madres” is about the strength and resilience of women.

Concert

Mariana Vigueras Restelli performs a concert to open the Lakeside Little Theatre’s 2021-2022 Season, Four shows are scheduled, September 15-17 and September 19, all at 4 p.m. in the McIntosh Auditorium. Tickets are 400 pesos. Reserved seats will go on sale August 30 at lakesidelittletheatre.com. The box office will be open one hour before each show and on September 8, 9, 15 and 16 from 10 a.m. to noon. Audience is capped at 75 percent of full house. Covid-19 protocols will be in effect, including mandatory masks.

Vigueras Restelli began her studies in classical singing, eventually venturing into jazz, soul and rock. She has performed at concerts and festivals in Guadalajara and Ajijic.
