Enrique and Belva Velazquez will present the original watercolors from their 30th annual Our Beloved Mexico 2023 calendar at their gallery, 16 de Septembre 7, Ajijic, Friday, October 14, 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, October 15, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Art in the Garden

LCS’ Art in the Garden show will be held Saturday, October 15, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., including work only by local artists. It will also provide a venue for the LCS Children’s Art program to sell cards and original art.

Dine and Dance

Tito and Zona Cuba perform at American Legion Post 7 during Chapala’s Cuban dance night, Tuesday, October 18, 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets, 150 pesos, at the Legion.

ASA Fall show

“Emergence” is the theme of the Ajijic Society of the Arts Fall show opeing Friday, October 21 at the Centro Cultural Ajijic, with an artist reception from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The show will be hung through October 27 and open daily 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with artists in attendance.

Opera Guild

The next Metropolitan Opera HD Live screening at Movie Space Cinema in Ajijic in league with The Chapala Opera Guild, is the premiere of Luigi Cherubini’s masterpiece, “Medea,” starring Sondra Radvanovsky, Saturday, October 22, 11:55 a.m. Reserved season and individual tickets available at the box office. Los Cantantes del Lago presents Showstoppers 21, a concert of solo and duet performances, at BRAVO! Theatre. Matinees are October 25, 30 and November 2 at 4 p.m. and evening performances are October 26 and November 1, 7 p.m. Timothy G. Ruff Welch is music director.

Bare Stage Theatre presents “The Garage Sale,” Friday to Sunday, October 28 to 30, 4 p.m.

Roseann Wilshere directs Hayao Alejandro Ashida, Sharon Jarvis, Frank Lynch, Robbin Moore, Roxanne Rosenblatt, Maxanne Swanson, John Ward and Tony Wilshere in this hilarious slice-of-life comedy from David King. Oil painting class

Laura Villanueva will hold a master class, “Pintura alla prima” (Italian for “paint your first impression”), Saturday, October 29, at the Casa del Sol Inn in Ajijic. Concerts in the Park
