Feria Maestros

The Feria Maestros del Arte will offer a variety of music and dance on its stage from the moment it opens at 9:30 a.m.  until it closes at 5:30 p.m., Friday to Sunday, November 11 to 13 at the Club de Yates in Chapala.

The 80-peso entrance fee is probably the least expensive entertainment option at Lakeside that weekend. On Friday enjoy performances by Mariachi Nuevo Chapala, the Paul Lopez Trio, a ballet folklorico troupe, the Willy Zavala Trio and the dance of the Tastoanes of Tonala.

Saturday begins with the Ajijic Trio, Mariachi Feminil, the Tastoanes of Tonala, MexiLatin, Ray Domenech and the Nugget Jazz Trio. Wrapping things up Sunday are a ballet folklorico and the Ajijic Trio.

Anne, an aging thespian and English teacher, now in her mid-eighties and recently widowed, is determined to maintain her independence and stay in the house she shared with Poppy. Her daughter Katherine arrives with groceries and a determination to help, organize, be sensible, and plan for the future, only to find her less-than-reliable brother has been there before her. With a wry sense of humor, “Assisted Living” by David Laing Dawson explores a few of the issues of family and aging that face us all.

“Assisted Living” is dramatic comedy at its best and promises to touch your heartstrings at the very least and raise your ire when betrayal is exposed.

Directed by Roxanne Rosenblatt, the cast is Arleen Pace, Darlene Sherwood and Frank Lynch. Show dates are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, ,November 25 to 27. Curtain at 4 p.m. Tickets, 200 pesos, can be reserved at This email address is being protected from spambots.
