The Lake Chapala Society Art Fair, featuring more than 70 local artists and artisans, will be held two days this month, Friday and Saturday, March 10 and 11, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

British Theatre

“Straight Line Crazy,” a new play by David Hare and directed by Nicholas Hytner, will be screened via National Theatre Live at Lakeside Little Theatre March 11 and 12, 4 p.m.

The play is a searing social critique full of punchy dialogue and exceptional acting from Ralph Fiennes, who leads the cast in Hare’s blazing account of the most powerful man in New York, a master manipulator whose legacy changed the city forever.

“Straight Line Crazy” has been met with critical acclaim, including a five-star review from The Guardian. Tickets available at the box office, or online at lakesidelittletheatre.com.

Dance celebration

Concerts at the Lake

A Night of Divas is scheduled for Wednesday, March 22, 5:30 p.m. at the remodeled Auditorio de la Ribera as a benefit for the Lake Chapala Society.

Meghan Murphy presents a tribute to her favorite divas - Judy, Liza, Barbara, Bette, Tina and more - accompanied by  Brett Rowe on piano. Broadway World describes Murphy as. “Statuesque in her stilettos,  ... Big Red is a towering inferno of talent … sexy, sultry and spellbinding.”

Kevin Anthony and Diana Villamonte come together for the first time at Lakeside for a powerhouse second act to this night of divas. Individually, each has wowed audiences in Ajijic in the past, but this is a very special one-night-only show together, filled with pop, R&B, disco and plenty of soul. Cabaret

The Ajijic Cabaret Troupe presents its first show, Sunday, April 2, 7:30 p.m. at El BarCo, as a benefit for Niños Incapacitados.

Doors open 5 p.m. Limited menu until 6:45 p.m., plus full bar service. Your 600-peso donation includes a glass of bubbly, a meet the players post performance, an evening of unique entertainment provided by local talented performing artists.
