Comedy benefit dinner
Enjoy an hour of stand-up comedy and storytelling with T.D. Lake (author and one-man actor of “The Shrink”) in an evening that includes a gourmet dinner at La Bodega Ajijic on Tuesday, January 21, to benefit Centro Educativo Jaltepec (Hotel and Hospitality Technical University). Opera
Lakeside Little Theatre (LLT) will screen the Metropolitan Opera’s production of “The Magic Flute” from Saturday to Monday, January 4 to 6, in LLT’s main auditorium. All performances begin at 4 p.m. Tickets, 350 pesos, are available at lakesidelittletheatre.com. Patrons presenting an INE (Mexican voter credential) card at the box office will receive a 100-peso discount.
Exhibits
• Centro Cultural Ajijic (CCA, at the plaza) is hosting the De Mi Alma (From My Soul) women’s art show with 86 artists and 147 pieces of art through January 8.
• A retrospectiv of the art of Dionicio Moreles will open with a cocktail reception, Friday, January 10, 5 p.m. at the Centro Cultural Ajijic.
• The Lake Chapala Fine Artists Guild will hold a group exhibition at the Ajijic Cultural Center from Saturday, January 11 to Wednesday, January 22, with an opening reception on January 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. The Guild, founded in 2011, is an art collective that showcases fine art created by established, professional artists.
