FRIDAY

• The Escarabajo Blues Band will perform on Friday, May 23 at Casa del Sol Inn. Led by vocalist and guitarist Eric Slim Miller, the quintet’s repertoire spans the classic Blues pioneers from the Delta to Chicago.

Joining Miller are Omar Ramírez on keyboards, Archie Salcedo on drums, Alfonso Fuentes on bass and Eleazar “Chuco” Soto on saxophone. • The Ajijic Spot Stage will host the Ari Loyola Jazz Quintet on Thursday, May 29, 6 p.m. The musicians are Ari Loyola, Gil Ríos, Isael Angulo, Eleazar Soto and Álvaro Medeles. • Black and Swing will perform at La Bodega on Saturday, May 31, 6 p.m.

• Maru Prado Conti will present a tribute to Lady Gaga with special guest Chris Lopez at a Concerts in the Park event at the Lake Chapala Society on Friday, June 6. The following day, June 7, Daniel Celis will perform Jubileo, a dance party with his group Monaco and special guest Raz Gomez Cruz. On June 8, Eva Jimenez will perform as PINK with special guest Losanna Diaz, featuring dancers, videos, and costumes. All shows will begin at 7 p.m. A pre-show celebration will be held at 6 p.m. each night for VIP ticket holders. • The Lakeside Jazz Series presents a tribute concert to Charles Mingus Saturday, June 7, 6 p.m. at Casa del Arte, Av. del Pilar 8A in Riberas del Pilar. Performing will be double bassist Kike Mayoral, pianist Marc Fabbricatore, guitarist Juan Castañon, and drummer Archi Salcedo. Tickets: 500 pesos.

Classes

Registration is open for the Lake Chapala Society’s Children’s Summer Art Camp, which will be held from July 21 to 25. Open to children and youth ages 4 to 16, the camp offers workshops in drawing, embroidery, textile art, photography, watercolor painting, and more. Lunch and all materials are provided. Spaces are limited.
