Theater
• “Blood Relations” opens Friday, October 24, 4 p.m. at Bare Stage. This electrifying play is based on the true story of Lizzie Borden, who may or may not have killed her own blood relations in Fall River, Massachusetts, in 1893. The murder remains unsolved.
Renowned playwright Sharon Pollock examines Lizzie’s motives, her relationships, and the possibility of her innocence or guilt, offering a nuanced perspective on one of America’s most notorious historical figures.

• Lakeside Little Theatre (LLT) opens the second production of its 61st season, “The Tin Woman,” on Friday, November 7. The play is based on the true story of a young woman who unexpectedly needs a heart transplant. Afterward, she decides to contact the donor’s family.
“The Tin Woman” runs from November 7 to 16, with matinees on Saturdays, Sundays and Tuesdays at 4 p.m. and evening shows at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets, 400 pesos, are available at lakesidelittletheatre.com and at the box office before the shows.
Opera
Lakeside Little Theatre begins its 2025-26 opera season with a screening of the MET’s production of Vincenzo Bellini’s “La Sonnambula” on Monday, October 27, 4 p.m.
This opera tells the dramatic tale of love lost then regained. Sung in Italian with English subtitles, “La Sonnambula” was filmed live at New York’s Metropolitan Opera House and will be presented in LLT’s McIntosh Auditorium.
Tickets, 350 pesos, are available at lakesidelittletheatre.com and an hour before the show at the box office.
Art fairs
• Art in the Plaza, an arts and crafts shopping bazaar, will be held Saturday, November 1, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the main plaza in San Antonio Tlayacapan.
Exhibits
• La Cochera Cultural will present a Dia de Muertos exposition Saturday, November 1, 5:30 p.m. Displaying their art will be both local and Tapatio artists: Rocia Vera, Abril Duran, Miguel Angel Lopez, Menaze Miguel Mendez, Edgardo Josefat Badial, Chava Rodriguez Vazquez, Gabriel Mariscal, Alfredo Langarica, Filipe 7 and Gonzalo Espinoza. Lola la Tequilera will perform.
• The Lake Chapala Fine Artists Guild (LCFAG) opens a group exhibition at La Estación Restaurant (Hidalgo 75, Riberas del Pilar, above Pancho’s East) Friday, November 7 with an opening reception from 3 to 6 p.m.

• As part of the Jazz Lakeside Series, the Spanish sax sensation Miguel Seoane quintet performs at Casa del Arte, Saturday, October 25, 6 p.m. The band includes local musicians Marc Fabbricatore on piano, Juan Castañon on guitar, Giovanni Figueroa on drums and Freddy Adrián on bass. • Patricio Apaez gives a free piano recital, 12:30 p.m. at the Centro Cultural Gonzalez Gallo in Chapala. His distinguished career includes a debut at Carnegie Hall (2018), performances as a soloist with the New Jersey Baroque Orchestra, and recent studies with masters like Jorge Luis Prats. Currently, he serves as a professor in New Jersey, sharing his expertise.

Lakeside Little Theatre will hold auditions for “Something Rotten” from Wednesday to Friday, October 29 to 31, 10 a.m. at LLT. Vocal auditions are on October 29, every ten minutes. Show dates are February 27 to March 10. The director is looking for seven men and three women, two male featured roles, and an ensemble of 12 to 14 men and women.
