pg17a

Siglos Pasados was founded in 1980 by Florez, and has performed throughout Europe, the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Tickets, 400 pesos, include a glass of wine and can be reserved via WhatsApp at +52 331-432-2577.

Opera

pg17dLakeside Little Theatre will screen the Metropolitan Opera HD Live production of Umberto Giordano’s “Andrea Chénier” on Monday, January 5, 4 p.m.

Andrea Chénier is set in Paris amid the drama and turmoil of the French Revolution. Giordano’s great tragedy blends verismo’s focus on the raw emotions of everyday people with the spectacle of historical grand opera. The marriage of sound and text is exemplary. More than anything, Andrea Chénier relies on engrossing performances from its lead performers for success, but the central characters are placed within an effective, larger musical canvas that bolsters the compelling star turns, rather than relying on them wholesale. Stars are tenor Piotr Beczała, soprano Sonya Yoncheva and baritone Igor Golovatenko.

Tickets, 350 pesos, are available online at lakesidelittletheatre.com, at the LLT box office one hour before every show and can be reserved at This email address is being protected from spambots.
