Ajijic Quilt Guild
The quilting and fabric artists of the Ajijic Quilt Guild will host a one-day exhibition of their works on Monday, March 16, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on the grounds of Casa Lule Restaurant, Ocampo 180, between Rio Bravo and Seis Esquinas.

The show will feature 12 exhibitors showing over 30 full-size quilts, along with wall hangings, bags, purses, embellished jackets and smaller textile creations. Some items will be available for purchase.
Complementary iced tea, lemonade and cookies will be offered to guests. Box lunches for purchase are available upon request. Free admission.

Norm Foster’s “The Love List” is on at The Bare Stage Friday to Sunday, March 6 to 8. All shows are at 4 p.m. “The Love List” has engaging characters, witty dialogue, fast pacing and clever twists, and promises audiences raucous laughter, along with thoughtful reflections on love and relationships.

• The music of Astor Piazzolla, a concert by Rosy Navarro on Piano, Jorge Amezcua on violin and Jared Trejo on cello, is at 5 p.m. in the Centro para la Cultura y las Artes de la Ribera (CCAR). Tickets at the CCAR box office.
SATURDAY
• Stan and Linda Foster will present a Tribute to Neil Diamond, Saturday, March 7, 4 p.m. at Mama’s Musical Bar in San Antonio as a fundraiser for Lucky Dog. Tickets, 500 pesos, are available at Kinda Bazaar … in Riberas del Pilar.
SUNDAY

• The Orquesta Típica Contemporánea in Guadalajara will appear at the Ajijic Plaza at 4 p.m., for a joint concert with the Orquesta Típica de Chapala. The free performance is booked as a promotional prelude to the annual Encuentro de Arpas y Salterios music fest in June.
• Violeta, a multidisciplinary performance featuring piano, dance and song to commemorate International Women’s Day, is on at Centro Cultural Gonzalez Gallo in Chapala, 12:30 p.m. Featuring artists Kristina Trejo, Leonor Zertuche and Mariajosé Medeles, this event uses art as a poetic tool for reflection.
COMING SOON
• Internationally renowned Italian jazz musicians will perform the “Lago Suena” concert as part of the International Jazz Cycle, Thursday, March 12, at the Garden of Dreams Hotel. • The acclaimed vocal ensemble Nova Lux will perform “Un Tapiz de Clásicos Corales” — a program of choral masterpieces from the Renaissance to the present — at Lakeside Little Theatre (LLT) on Friday, March 13, 4 p.m. Nova Lux is an elite 16-member subset of Las Voces del Lago. The program includes works by Antonio Scandello, William Byrd, Heinrich Schütz, Felix Mendelssohn and Morten Lauridsen, and will feature an early music recorder trio.

• Losanna will perform “Como La For,” a tribute to Selena, Sunday, March 15, 1 p.m. at the Lake Chapala Society as one of Steve Balfour’s Concerts in the Park. Tickets are available at the LCS office.
Dance
Celebrate 39 years of tradition with the Ballet Folclorico Ixtlahuacan, with live Mariachi music Sunday, March 8, 1 p.m. at the Centro para la Cultura y las Artes de la Ribera. Tickets, central seating 250 pesos, side seating 200 pesos. This is a fundraiser to send the group to New York.
Art
Efren Gonzalez will hold an auction of oils, watercolors, acrylics, sculpture, and more on Friday, March 13, 3 p.m. on the north side of the Ajijic plaza.
Exhibits

• The Lake Chapala Fine Artists Guild opened its last group exhibition of the high season on Saturday, February 28 at the Centro Cultural Ajijic (CCA).
The winner of the People’s Choice “Best in Show” was Judy Miller for her stunning soft pastel piece, “Endings Can Be Beautiful.” Another of her works was awarded People’s Choice at the Guild’s group exhibit in January of last year.
The Guild is an art collective of established, professional artists established over 14 years ago. Exhibitions showcase only high-quality visual art work. No crafts, clothing, fashion accessories or other commercial goods.
The show continues at CCA through Tuesday, March 17.
The Artistas de la Ribera exhibit is running simultaneously on the center’s second floor.
Regular opening hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Admission is free.

• Saturday, March 7, 6 p.m. Amigrante Galeria, Marcos Castellanos 14B, will inaugurate an exhibition of Pato 11, a visual artist from Guadalajara who creates collage paintings.
