Jocotepec hosts a Feria Artesanal Indígena from Monday, February 10 through Monday, February 17 in the town’s main plaza. Among the indigenous art and crafts on show and for sale will be pieces from the communities of the Wixarika, Otomí, Tzotzil, Chol, Purépecha, Nahua and Mazahua.
An exposition by three Jocotepec artists: Anabel Ibarra, Chenlla and Eduardo Xilozochitl opens Friday, January 31, 6 p.m. at the Chapala City Hall.
Correction
Photographer Jill Flyer informs us that the cost of her tours are 100 U.S. dollars with 20 U.S. dollars for each additional person. The cost was incorrectly put in pesos in last week’s column. Flyer stresses that the price is still excellent value for money.
Jocotepec city hall’s art and culture department is hosting a collective exhibit this month featuring work by some the town’s most accomplished artists.
The fourth play of the Lakeside Little Theatre season, “Blood Relations,” opens on Friday, January 17 and runs through January 26.
A selection of serigraphs and oils by the late Georg Rauch, one of Lakeside’s most prominent resident expat artists, is currently on display at Ajijic’s Galeria Cuatro, located at Colon 9.
