Vacuna Matata

After nearly five decades as a full-time resident of this nation, I have had my share of unique and incomparable Mexican adventures.

Few hold a candle to my experience in stalking the Covid-19 inoculation campaign in Ajijic for two days straight.

On Tuesday I got to the waterfront Malecón just as the sun was rising on the eastern horizon. My purpose was strictly to observe what was going on in my capacity as a news reporter. Wednesday’s principal mission was to get my own shot in the arm, while occasionally putting on a journalist cap to fulfill curiosity from an insider’s point of view. It turned out to be a long and exhausting 12-hour haul, ultimately successful as I squeezed into the next-to-last group of 50 to get vaccinated that day.
