Forget New Years resolutions.  Most folks trash them by February’s end. Contemplate these facts a moment: Our brains shrink approximately one half a percent a year. 

And this, say neurologists, often causes “mild” cognitive impairment as we hit middle age and surge toward our 70s.  This, as a well as genetics and diet (of course), and injury, tends to account for some of the forgetfulness that plagues folks who frequently lose/misplace keys, wallets, purses, documents, names, and become irascible.  Neurological scientists say such impairment can be the precursor to Alzheimer’s disease.
