U.S. President Donald Trump touts himself as a champion of peace, a man dedicated to ending wars and conflicts worldwide. But is that really the case?
His efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war have gone nowhere fast. And while he may be on the brink of sealing a deal to halt the Israeli bombings in Gaza—at least temporarily—his unwavering support for Benjamin Netanyahu has undoubtedly fueled the devastation there.
Trump also brags about ending at least six wars since taking office—highlighting supposed peace agreements between Cambodia and Thailand, India and Pakistan, and Congo and Rwanda. But these so-called “deals” are shaky at best, with most of them amounting to little more than fragile truces. It’s no secret that Trump covets the Nobel Peace Prize, an honor once bestowed upon his bitter rival, Barack Obama. The key to Trump’s quest? Constant self-promotion.
So, what about the other side of the coin: Trump as the War President?
