Reporter recommends New Year’s Eve dining, celebrating in Guadalajara

For 750 pesos per person (250 for children), Guadalajara’s popular New Mexico-style eatery Santo Coyote offers a premium international buffet, sparkling wine, a free international bar and the traditional 12-grape midnight challenge. For 500 pesos (300 for children) the Casa Bariachi New Year menu features medallion fillet with mustard, asparagus, almonds, mashed sweet potato and tostadas. For just 395 pesos (250 for children) the New Year’s Eve buffet menu at La Fonda de San Miguel features a choice of soups, salad with chipotle, shredded pork leg, chicken in plum sauce, fish fillets with jarocha and steak strips with chilli, all topped off with a choice of desserts. There will also be sparkling wine, grapes, kits with whistles and sombreros, raffles, games and dancing. La Fonda de San Miguel is on Donato Guerra 25 in the historic center.
