Hit on dog owner

A woman dispatched her son to kill a neighbor whose dog had attacked her several days earlier, police reports say.

The 45-year-old male victim was shot three times at point blank range in the face and neck. Police are looking for the suspects, who vanished shortly after the incident. The shooting occurred in Colonia Las Puertas in Tonala.

Cold weather takes deadly toll

Four homeless persons have died in the Guadalajara municipal area as a result of the current cold snap, Mayor Ismael del Toro said this week. Meanwhile, local Family Development Agency (DIF) shelters are full, and while staff are attending to as many people as they have resources for, he explained that some are being turned over to other agencies for assistance.
