Celebrate Thanksgiving and more at American Society in November

The American Society (AMSOC) in Guadalajara invites you to join them for a heartfelt and delicious celebration of Thanksgiving on November 27 at their headquarters in Colonia Chapalita. 

Enjoy a traditional meal with all the trimmings: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.  Additionally, raffle tickets will be available for purchase during the event.

Tickets for this festive meal are now on sale. The cost is 450 pesos for members, 500 for non-members and 600 at the door.  You can secure your spot at the dinner by purchasing tickets at the AMSOC front desk (cash only) or through a variety of other payment methods: cash deposit (bank or OXXO), bank transfer or PayPal. Weekly activities

In addition to the Thanksgiving festivities, AMSOC offers a variety of ongoing events throughout November. Whether you’re seeking fellowship, cultural exchange or personal support, there’s something for everyone: Regular events include:

• Alcoholics Anonymous: Mondays & Fridays at 6 p.m., Sundays at 11 a.m.

• Thursday Luncheons: A delicious meal served at 12 p.m. for only 110 pesos, with dessert for an additional 40 pesos.

• Thursday Games: Join the fun at 1 p.m. for games like Mahjong and Backgammon.

• English Conversation Club: Practice your English every Saturday at 2 p.m..

• Migrant Therapy Group: Sundays at 5 p.m. for those seeking support.

On Saturday, November 15, AMSOC will host a Community Free Clothing Swap at 6:30 p.m. It’s a great opportunity to refresh your wardrobe and meet others in the community, all while supporting sustainability.

AMSOC is located at Avenida San Francisco 3332, Colonia Chapalita. Originally set up in the 1950s for U.S. expats, the organization has grown over the years to embrace a diverse and inclusive community from all over the world.
