Chapala bomberos entertain large crowd at open house

More than 170 folks showed up for the pancake breakfast and open house held Saturday, June 20 at the Chapala Fire Department headquarters.

The local bomberos team kept the crowd entertained with a demonstration of rescue rappel techniques, zipline rides for kids and inside looks at the fire station installations and its fleet of vehicles.

The event was organized by the Grupo de Asistencia de Bomberos y Cruz Roja, the local support group involved in the importation of second-hand equipment and supplies donated by north-of- the-border firefighters. Proceeds will go into the kitty help cover around 60,000 pesos in expenses for shipping in the next load of goods, due to arrive from Canada in September.
