The Country Club de Chapala’s 15th annual golf tournament to benefit the Chapala Red Cross will be held Thursday, November 8, and club officers are hoping this year’s event will be the most successful in its history.
Two years ago, funds raised from the tournament helped purchase a much-needed ambulance just in time for the Christmas influx of vacationers and snowbirds. That ambulance is still going strong today, but needs constant care and maintenance.
With this in mind, the club is calling on one and all to support this year’s tournament, either as a participant, sponsor or volunteer.
The tournament is a scramble event with mixed teams, so everyone has a chance of winning.
Dalton Toyota is donating a new car for a hole-in-one on the 13th hole, while Lozano is putting up a golf cart for a similar feat on the 8th. There are also many other prizes. Spots fill up quickly, so visit the pro shop at the club or call (376) 763-5136 to reserve your space. Golfers pay 1,500 pesos for golf, cart, breakfast, lunch and comida. The dinner-only fee is 300 pesos.
