Loyola Student wins Prestigious spelling bee

Emiliano Valencia Contreras, a fourth-grade student at lakeside’s Instituto Loyola, won first place in the Amco International Spelling Bee, considered one of the most important of its kind in Latin America.

Around 1,000 students were selected from 1,300 private schools throughout the continent that form part of the Amco network teaching support community.

This number was eventually whittled down to just ten finalists who battled for top honors at the spelling bee, held June 1 during the 2019 Amco Summit at Expo Guadalajara. Valencia Contreras is seen here with his certificate and prizes.
