Operation Feed welcomes donations of non-perishable food items every Sunday. Boxed milk and empty cardboard egg cartons are especially welcome, in addition to rice, beans, pasta, lentils, garbanzos, oats, oil, and salt. The parish distributes the donations to Lakeside’s neediest families.
Decluttering? If so, don’t forget Todo Bueno. Donations or consignments benefit St. Andrew’s Outreach Ministry. Everything from clothing, kitchenware, electronics, books, furniture, appliances, collectibles to sports equipment are welcomed.
Todo Bueno is located on the Carretera, just west of S&S Auto in Riberas del Pilar. Open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Genesis 2:24 states, “For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.”
God has decreed that the most important human relationship in a marriage is our spouse. Men and women, we are to leave our father and mother and be joined to our spouse. It doesn’t mean that we love our parents or our children less, but the priority should always be with our spouse. In other words, the husband and the wife are called to be best friends. There should not be a person on this earth that we are closer to than our spouse. And if there is, our priorities have gotten out of whack and ask God to forgive us and help us reprioritize our life.
Have you thought about a weekly date with your husband or wife? Doing so can help keep your spouse as your best friend. It’s a real key to marriage - as God designed it to be.

We want to serve, to help those around us, to make our community strong and healthy, and to make the world a better place. How do we discern the nature and direction of such a call? How do we serve and stay balanced? How do we interact with others, who may have different calls?

Christ Church Lakeside
Christ Church Lakeside (CCL), a parish of the Diocese of the West in the Anglican Church of Mexico, will observe the Ninth Sunday after Pentecost, August 11, by celebrating the Holy Eucharist Rite Two at 11 a.m. in La Huerta Events Center. Abundant Life Church
Have you been invited to the great feast? After hearing that there would be a feast in heaven, one man responded to Jesus by saying, “Blessed is the one who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.” Jesus then proceeded to explain that many will be missing at the feast. It is not for a lack of invitation but rather the invited guests decided that other things were more important. It is hard to imagine not feeling like heaven is important. For some, though, their current life is their priority. This is why Jesus reaches out to believers with the message, so that even those who did not get their invitation can hear about the great feast. Jesus is inviting people from the city and urban areas as well as those living on the country lanes to come to the feast. Many people evaluate themselves or feel scrutinized by others concerning their personal abilities. Sadly, much of the time this causes a depressive state of being. Knowing that one has the ability to perform a task brings positive feelings. Though this is desirable, it is usually momentary. Nonetheless, though brief in its positivity, one must be careful about placing their life-long values on brief encounters.
For those who are born-again Christians, there is something that takes precedence over mere ability. To be of real value to the kingdom of God, we no doubt give Him our best. But, it is important to realize that He is not seeking us for our abilities. His main desire is for our availability to Him and His kingdom. Our desire to be available to Him shows Him what He wants.

Riberas Meditation

Ramana Maharshi was the leading Indian spiritual teacher of the 20th century. He taught the practice of self-inquiry as the most direct way to self-knowledge. This is looking within yourself to see what is true – and what is not true – about your own sense of identity, your ego.
Weekly spiritual gatherings (satsangs) are a time to come together and listen to contemporary teachers’ instruction on Ramana’s teachings and then meditate as a group.
