Lakeside Fiestas & Special Events – 2020

Lake Chapala area residents and visitors can look forward to the celebration of national holidays, along with dozens of traditional festivities and special entertainment happenings that will take place during 2020.

Commemorations of public holidays are highlighted in bold type. Government offices, schools, financial institutions, schools, and some businesses shut down operations on these occasions.

Under Federal Labor Laws, salaried workers are granted a day off with regular pay on all of these Dias de Asueto (statutory holidays). Employees who work on these dates are entitled to full daily wages plus double time for the hours worked.

Here is the Guadalajara Reporter’s month-by-month listing of important dates to remember. Watch our pages for information on other events of interest to be published once scheduling is firm.

January 1: Año Nuevo (New Year’s Day official holiday); Año Nuevo parade, Ajijic

January 6: Dia de Reyes (Epiphany) celebrations

January 6-19: Señor del Monte fiestas, Jocotepec

January 9, 10 & 12: Lip Sync Show, Auditorio de la Ribera
