Once the dust settled from the 42nd Mexico National Chili Cookoff, nine lakeside charity organizations received an impressive financial boost from the disbursement of proceeds.
The funds were presented Monday, March 2 at Manix Restaurant, when Cookoff President Jacque Bouchard delivered a report on the event, held February 7 to 9, revealing that a substantial increase in attendance this year translated into raising revenue across the board by around ten percent compared to 2019.
Combined with various cost-cutting measures that were implemented, it meant that each of the beneficiaries would walk away with a whopping 75,000 pesos, up from last year’s handout of 60,000 pesos.
