US graduate sees bright future in environmentally friendly plastics

An former student of the International Institute in Chapala has graduated with honors from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell (UML).

pg13bJoshua Krantz was born in Boston, Massachusetts, but his family moved to the Chapala area when he was just two years old.

He completed his high school studies at the International Institute, earning the Bilingual International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in 2015.

“The IB prepared me for the workload at UML,” Krantz says. “In fact, I’d say I studied harder for the IB than I did for the first two years of university. Writing papers weekly for the IB made writing papers monthly at UML much easier. It also got me 12 transfer credits, so I didn’t have to take three classes.”
