Lakeside Presbyterian

Sunday, August 23, 10 a.m., Pastor Carolyn Hansen’s sermon is entitled “A Life of Meaning,” drawn from Psalm 112. This Psalm invites us to understand what is “a blessed life.” Our culture tells us we need wealth for a happy life - a message that affects most of us, despite our best intentions. Psalm 112 offers a biblical view of the blessed life rooted in a relationship, and demonstrated in action.

Recorded versions are available on facebook.com/lpcchapala, and on www.lpcchapala.org. The devotional booklet “Our Daily Bread” in regular and large print is available free of charge Tuesdays in the church office.

LPC’s Outreach Ministry continues to deliver life’s necessities to the neediest in Lakeside; despensas (basic pantry supplies) now include clothing for adults and children. To this date, 425 deliveries have been made on behalf of Chapala Sunrise Rotary. Reaching out in a loving and practical way will get us through this stressful time! Abundant Life Church

Found money can be fun as well as a blessing, but that money is bittersweet when it is the result of an inheritance. Receiving an inheritance means that someone has died and no amount of money can take the place of the loved one. The only time when receiving an inheritance is wonderful is found in the life of a believer who receives his inheritance in the Lord who is alive again. Sunday, August 23, 10 a.m., Pastor Gary encourages us to do everything possible to enjoy our inheritance in Christ as we live in expectation of His return.

We are limited to 50 people, so be one of the first to arrive. Those who cannot be with us in person will enjoy our services both on our Facebook page as well as our YouTube channel and at abundantlifechapala.com.

Abundant Life Church is affiliated with the Assemblies of God of Mexico. English Bible study is Wednesdays at 3 p.m. Abundant Life Church, Carretera Chapala-Joco 140, San Antonio Tlayacapan.

Lakeside Community

Fellowship

You find two kinds of fear in the Bible. The first is a spirit of fear, and the second is the fear of the Lord. A spirit of fear is unhealthy. It can consume you and paralyze you. On the other hand, the fear of the Lord is healthy because it’s simply reverence for Him. And the Bible says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. There are a lot of things in our world today that could cause us to be fearful. But if you’ve placed your trust in the Lord, go to Psalm 27:1 and meditate on it. “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Look, I can’t control everything in this world but I trust the One who does. So, I do what the psalmist said he would do, “I will sing and make melody to the Lord.” Trust completely in the Lord and let His peace guard your heart.

The church meets online every Sunday at 10 a.m.
