Weekly Worship - May 22, 2021

Lakeside Presbyterian

LPC has returned to in-church services. A new starting time of 9:30 a.m. for the English language service is now in effect. All social distancing and masking protocols are in place.

That includes a maximum of 50 attendees per service. Walk-ins are welcome as the room permits. or register online at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Pastor Carolyn Hansen’s sermon is entitled “The Golden Rule,” Matthew 7:12.

Our COVID experiences brings this rule to mind forcefully: we must mask, and also depend on strangers to mask for our mutual safety. The resulting level of distrust in our neighbors illustrates how little we value and follow Jesus’ most famous directive, “Do to others what you would have them do to you,”

Please join us on Sunday, May 23, 9:30 a.m. for our worship services, which are also streamed to www.Facebook/lpcchapala or www.lpc-chapala.org. Devotionals are Tuesdays and Thursdays on these same sites.

Lake Chapala Baptist

The Lake Chapala Baptist Church will be open Sunday, May 23, 10:45 a.m., for in-person service. Covid protocols, including masks, sanitizing and social distancing will be followed.

Lake Chapala Baptist Church continues an exposition of the Epistle to the Ephesians (6:10-18). In this series of the “Christian in Complete Armor,” the piece of armor being considered this week is “the shield of faith.” We are able to hold up the shield of faith when we have settled the issue that this book is “The truth and nothing but the truth.”

• That what God has said about Himself is nothing but truth.

• That the commands that God has given are truly the right way to live our lives.

• That every promise comes from a God who cannot lie and will fulfill what He’s promised to us.

• That this book is sure and steadfast and able to give victory in any situation.

A Christian must be able to wield the shield of faith quickly. A speedy application of Scripture can secure our safety when under attack from skepticism, gossiping, immorality, materialism and slander. Christ made us just and gave us the gospel of His peace so we can repulse those arrows.
